If you don’t believe you can win, there is no point in getting out of bed at the end of the day.
Everton and Welsh legend Neville Southall. During his long career, his honours included winning the league title and FA Cup twice, the European Cup Winners Cup and Footballer Writer’s Association’d Player of the Year.
A definite Everton legend.
Any excuse to get him in π Saw him live quite a few times. Such presence. he as god as won us the FA Cup Final in 1995.
I don’t remember much of him as I wasn’t even born in his heyday beginning in the 80’s but from what I’ve seen of footage and writings and also family members, he really was amazing.
He did so much for both. Quite a character too. One time he was so fed up with his team’s defending he stayed on the pitch for half time haha.
I’ve heard that story before.
Better to rise in the morning

I did π
I second Derrick’s comment! And I enjoyed the link you gave as well Alex! It’s 5am here in New Zealand – so I must believe, if I’m up, that I can win at something today!
I bet you will π
Go big or go home!
Totally. The speech from Any Given Sunday comes to mind too π
No idea who this guy is, don’t know anything about the sport, but that’s a completely true statement.
Honestly, in his prime the guy was sensational.
Neville doesn’t seem to like the way football is going in his own words: “It is more about theatre than football now. Non league is the Winter Gardens and the Premier League is the West End. It’s the same theatrics but with better actors.”
That doesn’t surprise me. He was always very old school. When he won the cup in 1995 he decided to stay at home with his family rather than celebrate with the lads.
