I don’t want to see a ghost
It’s the sight that I fear most
I’d rather have a piece of toast
Watch the evening news
Regularly voted the worst lyrics of all time, Des’ree’s attempts will take some beating. Realising what the best lyrics are is somewhat trickier. Below are the lyrics that have really stood to me, as well as a few music-related articles I’ve written. Feel free to suggest any you think would make a worthy inclusion.

Always something new and eclectic to choose from on your blog, Alex!
Thank you kindly. Feel free to suggest add some suggestions for the topics too 🙂
Nice, varied selection, Alex. There’s some music hiding on my site which might interest you. Have a search if you feel inclined!
Thanks, and will do 🙂
I can hear the groans from non-Rush fans already, but the lyrics to The Trees are hard to beat.
I had a look. Very different and poetic.
A good list of great song writers. I’ll suggest Garbage too for often very complex and imaginative lyrics. Especially Blood For Poppies and Hammering In My Head.
I did listen to quite a bit back in the day. I never saw them as complex lyrics but should definitely go back and have a look.
You really should. They are pretty much ignored by the mainstream these days which is a real shame as I think there more recent stuff is some of their most complex and imaginative yet. Check out the album ‘Not Your Kind Of People’.

You have a great selection of music but you are missing an essential- Bob Dylan. NOT his new stuff but his older stuff. If you listen to his lyrics, they are pretty awesome!
I am a fan for sure. I put my two Dylan favourites under D for his surname. Hope you like them. Feel free to suggest others 🙂
Suggestions made! Hope you enjoy 🙂
Thanks for them. Excellent choices 🙂
