Taken from the song Gimme Shelter by The Rolling Stones from Let it Bleed (1969). One of the best known anti-war songs, it also features one of my favourite opening guitar riffs. If you’re a fan of The Rolling Stones, you might also like this previous post.

I drive my husband crazy with this song. I freaking LOVE it to bits. And that opening piece? Fantastic. When the drums kick in? Goosebumps. ❤ Great pick!
I know. It sends shivers really. But how can your husband not love the song or have got fed up of it?
Oh no, he likes it plenty xD But I can get real carried away sometimes haha.
I’m sure he has his own ones too
This is probably my favorite song of theirs. Timely line given the current state of the world.
Sympathy for the Devil is probably mine, but this is a very close second. The intro, and the message of the song is so striking. You’ve always shown yourself to have impeccable taste in music 🙂
Thank you. 😍😋
The video is powerful too.
So simple and profound. Great quote.
It reminds me of ‘If you Tolerate This, then your Children will be Next’ by the Manic Street Preachers
Now this is a song if ever there was one.
I don’t know anyone who doesn’t like this song.
Without a doubt my favourite ever Rolling Stones songs (great pick Alex!) I’d go as far to say as this is one of my favourites songs EVER!
It’s an incredible song. Truly timeless.
Got me a Rolling Stones Greatest Hits set of CDs this year and that song is on high rotation in my car. I grew up with The Beatles and The BeeGees around the house. I knew about the Stones but it feels like a more intense discovery is occurring now as an adult.
How good was this song used in the trailer for Flight?!
