Gr8at: JMW Turner

The first art exhibition I remember going to was of Joseph Mallord William Turner, and it’s no surprise he’s long been one of my favourite artists. Gifted with oil, watercolour, etching or even a simple draft , Turner was a huge success in his lifetime and his popularity has never come close to fading. Inspired by going to the Turner and the Sea exhibition at the national Maritime Museum (and expect more on that soon), I’ve decided it’s time for a Gr8at on one of Britain’s greatest ever painters.

Fishermen at Sea (1796)

Moonlight Study at Millbank (1797)

Thank you for sharing with us.
Have a wonderful Sunday, Alex! 🙂

  2. When I spent a semester in England, my history class actually studied The Fighting Temeraire. Beautiful, symbolic piece during a fascinating point in history. Nice to see some other awesome paintings from Turner, too!
