Line(s) of the Day #Graceland

Graceland album paul simon

She comes back to tell me she’s gone
As if I didn’t know that
As if I didn’t know my own bed
As if I’d never noticed
The way she brushed her hair from her forehead

And she said, “losing love
Is like a window in your heart
Everybody sees you’re blown apart
Everybody sees the wind blow”

Taken from the song Graceland from the album of the same name (1986). Though the song charted badly, it’s gorgeous sound and heartfelt lyrics have always been popular and the album is still considered to be one of the greatest ever.

Line(s) of the Day #Firework

Firework

Do you ever feel like a plastic bag
Drifting through the wind, wanting to start again?
Do you ever feel, feel so paper thin
Like a house of cards, one blow from caving in?

Taken from the song Firework by Californian songstress Katy Perry, from her third studio album Teenage Dream (2010). Along with one of her later songs Roar, this US chart-topper is considered one of her most empowering songs.
