Line(s) of the Day #PaintItBlack

1966-paint-it-black-7s-sa

I see a line of cars and they’re all painted black
With flowers and my love both never to come back
I see people turn their heads and quickly look away
Like a newborn baby, it just happens every day

Taken from Paint it Black from The Rolling Stones’ studio album Aftermath (1966). A huge number one on both sides of the Atlantic, it’s still a favourite on their live tours, once I was able to see on Friday. Expect a post on it soon.

Line(s) of the Day #Kashmir

Physical Graffiti led zeppelin

Oh, let the sun beat down upon my face
And stars fill my dream
I’m a traveller of both time and space
To be where I have been

The opening lyrics of Kashmir from English rock icons Led Zeppelin from their sixth studio album Physical Graffiti (1975).  Features one of the all-time escalating builds ups, the song is considered by the band to be their most definitive. You can find the 8 minute and 30 second song here, along with another seven of my favourite lengthy music pieces.
