This is dreadfully sad to write. I’ve read a lot of wonderful tributes to a man who could do pretty much anything on screen. From as long as I can remember watching films seriously, Robin Williams was always there. Whether he was playing an inspirational professor, a devoted father posing as a British nanny, a rebellious DJ or two very different Presidents of the USA, Williams could bring anybody to life with warmth, energy and compassion. And that’s without saying how funny he was, or how his range even extended to playing sinister and creepy villains. The world will miss both his outrageous acting talent and wonderful nature off it.
Below are 12 different Robin Williams images from different films that capture his incredible ability. I wanted this tribute to be all in one post and Limiting it to six just wasn’t an option. Unlike with the other film quizzes in this set, there are no difficult photographs. It is really more about looking back on a wonderful career.
That very controversial American President Richard Nixon once said: “No event in American history is more misunderstood than the Vietnam War. It was misreported then, and it is mis-remembered now.” However you feel about the war itself, and what it represented, it has been fascinatingly portrayed on the big screen. See how well you can do at working out the six films below.
