The Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Olympics finishes today, after 16 drama-fuelled days. As with any major sporting event, there have been all stories. Records have been obliterated, heroes have appeared, legends created and dreams fulfilled. But there’s also been all kinds of disappointment on display too as years of hard work fall away in an instant. Inspired by a blog post on Vinnie H, below are 12 films on the Summer and Winter Olympics. Some are based on a true story, others entirely fictional. Can you work them out?
There have been some truly inspirational females in Hollywood making their voices heard, matching with a growing increasing of films with female leads. That includes films like Wonder Woman, Bridesmaids, Ghostbusters and Hidden Figures, with a wide array of talented female stars. But it’s not just on screen where this talent is starting to show. Behind the camera, there have been some fantastic work going on by a number of women in all kinds of genres. You’ll notice some great films from up to 30 years ago as well. How many of these women-directed films do you recognise? Did any of them surprise you?
Not all animals on screen are cute and fluffy. Even some of the rabbit ones can be kind of sinister. And with the release of the fourth in the Jurassic Park series, it’s the perfect time to look at some other no-pet creatures on screen. How many can you work out?
