Line(s) of the Day #SadHappy

circa waves single sad happy

I was waiting so sad happy
Thought I lost you in a nightmare dream
You were too high to hold on
I was losing all track of time

Taken from the song Sad Happy by Liverpool band Circa Waves, from the English band’s fourth studio album Sad Happy (2020).

Where heaven waits, those golden gates and back again
You take me to and lead me through oblivion
This is the morning of our love
It’s just the dawning of our love

Taken from the song I Feel You by English artists Depeche Mode, from their studio album Songs of Faith and Devotion (1993). It was the Basildon group’s first album to top both the UK and US charts and is one of my favourites, including Walking in my Shoes and In Your Room. They’re an incredible act and I’ve been fortunate enough to see them live.

Line(s) of the Day #WishYouWereHere

Wish you were Here Pink Floyd

How I wish, how I wish you were here
We’re just two lost souls
Swimming in a fish bowl

Taken from the song Wish You Were Here (1975), from Pink Floyd’s album of the same name. I’m a huge fan of the English band and have quoted their songs Comfortably Numb, Learning to Fly and Time, as well as including them in Gr8at Debut Albums and Non-Festive UK Number Ones. I was also able to see Their Mortal Remains, their exhibition at the V&A.

Self-Portrait c.1799 by Joseph Mallord William Turner 1775-1851

Light is therefore colour.

As said by the genius that was Joseph Mallord William Turner (1775 – 1851). I’ve always been a huge fan of the English landscape painter. He was the first artist that I remember seeing an exhibition of and have been able to see his work up close several times since. I’ve posted a review of one of his collections here and my favourite of his many works here.
