I love animals, photography and comedy, so anything that successfully combines all three is a sure-fire winner for me. I covered The Comedy Wildlife Photography Awards in a post last year so it’s great to add some from this year’s edition too. Especially as the standard is a high as ever. These are my eight favourites, but be sure to check out the official website for more great photos, as well as any possible merchandise that catches your eye.
Christmas has gone, the New Year and Epiphany too, but it’s still Winter. And that means for most of us it’s still pretty cold. And for more than a few of us that can mean snow, a type of weather that’s been represented in all kind of non-Christmas films. How well will you do in the quiz that covers everything from thrilling and funny to sweet and sinister? As always, please feel free to share your score and any further comments you have.
Along with socks, slippers and chocolate, one of the traditions of Christmas is a novelty Christmas jumper. It is after all a great way to make a distinctive appearance, as Mark Darcey made with his festive Rudolph effort to Bridget Jones. After reading a post on the BBC website I decided to choose eight of the most distinctive Christmas sweaters from the Premier League. Do you have a favourite of the eight below? Did you receive anything similar from your presents?
I’ve always been a big fan of funny cartoons and animals so it’s no surprise that I was going to combine the two in a post at some point. And one was never going to be enough. Below are eight animal-themed cartoons that caught my eye. Do you have any pets? Are you a fan of cartoon strips? As always, please feel free to say if you have a favourite of the eight below.
I recently went to the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition in the very wonderful The Natural History Museum in South Kensington. It was so good I just had to share some of my favourite photographs. If you are anywhere in and around London, I really recommend you go. It runs until the 23 March 2014. Even if you can’t go though, you can still buy either a print or canvas of the entrants in different sizes. Below are eight of the ones that caught my eye but there are plenty of others. If you hover on each photograph you’ll get its name and who took it.
