I’m a light eater. As soon as it’s light, I start to eat.
American football Hall of Famer and broadcaster Art Donovan (1924 – 2013). Nicknamed The Bulldog, the Donovan was a self-deprecating character and popular figure who titled his autobiography Fatso: Football When Men Were Really Men.
I’ve always had a big interest in books. And amid my interest in the classic and the contemporary novels, I’ve had a big passion for short stories and sports books. I’ve quoted a few of them on my Literature and Sports pages but wanted to share them as pictorial form. You’ll find these two photos and plenty of others on my Instagram page of Raphaelalexx.
There were some incredible shots in the black and white sporting photographs post, but here are eight different sports, this time using colour. Do you have a favourite of the eight? Which do you think was the most impressive?
With the release of the latest Kevin Costner film The Draft, it seemed the ideal time to do a themed quiz on Hollywood’s love for American Football. Even if you’re not a fan of the sport, you might still get a couple so definitely give it a go.

With the riots, the American Football team moving back to Oakland and its incredible rap and hip hop scene, LA was in the headlines even more than usual in the 1990s. I like to mix things up a bit, so rather than list the decade as a clue within the quiz, this time i’m giving you the year it was released. All the six films below were set in LA.
