Julia: May I ask what happened with Linda?
Robbie: She wasn’t the right one, I guess.
Julia: Did you have any idea she wasn’t the right one when you were together?
Robbie: I should have. Uh, I remember we went to the Grand Canyon one time. We were flying there and I’d never been there before and Linda had, so you would think that she would give me the window seat but she didn’t and… not that that’s a big deal, you know. It’s just there were a lot of little things like that. I know that sounds stupid…
Julia: Not at all. I think it’s the little things that count.
Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler in the 80s set romcom The Wedding Singer (1998), where a failing musican must learn to love again after being ditched at the altar.
Fortunately, as Billy Idol suggests, ‘first class passengers are allowed to do pretty much anything they want’ and Julia and Robbie’s problems get solved…
Yeah Robbie and Julia make a sweet relationship. It’s a nice cameo from Billy Idol too.
I love this film. And the soundtrack is fantastic ๐
I watched it again recently. There’s such genuine chemistry between the two leads and you know how much I love 80s music. Do you have a fave romcom?
It will always be When Harry Met Sally. So brilliant on every level ๐
Iโll have what sheโs having ๐คฃ
Exactly! Made all the better for that “actress” being Rob Reiner’s mum!! ๐
I know. In the AFI best film lines she’s between the famous “you know how to whistle” quote by Lauren Becall and Casablanca’s “round up the usual suspects” one. Fine company!
I loved this movie, saw it many times, and loved the example
It was the heart of the film for me, especially as it’s referenced at the end of the film too. The little things are important.
This movie is so cute! And she might have been Julia Gulia!!
Drew Barrymore has such a wonderful smile. It doesn’t happen so often but it’s great when child stars make a success of Hollywood later in life too.
She really overcame a very dysfunctional childhood to get where she is today. I love her in all her movies, especially the ones with Adam Sandler.
I’m glad she has. I really need to see 50 First Dates too. Not a big fan of Adam Sandler but he was perfect in this and I imagine heโs really good in their other films too.
I finally saw 50 First Dates a few weeks ago quarantining with my son and daughter in law! Itโs very cute!
That’s great!
Love this movie! I really enjoy Adam when he’s accompanied by Drew Barrymore
Yeah they have this wonderful chemistry. 50 First Dates is now on the list.
cool movie and dialogue ๐ ah, poor fella, wanted the window seat ๐
Yeah I think you’d enjoy it ๐
how’s writing? progressing? I personally spent 2 hours reading and commenting blogs ๐
On sixth story for my third collection. I really like the intro so need to continue that verve. My latest post will help answer too ๐
cool, how many stories are planned?
7, so getting closer ๐
well, you are done! almost… congrats!๐๐
This is one of my all time favorites! The humor, the 80โs pop culture references, Sandler and Barrymore are excellent together. โPlease get out of my Van Halen shirt before you jinx the band and they break up!โ
Yeah they have such great chemistry. Such a sweet and funny film. The 80s was such a great period for music and cool stuff.
๐๐คฃ๐yes! Another good one!

This is one of my absolute favourite comedies. It’s amazing how funny and charming Adam Sandler can be with the right script and co-star!
Yeah, not a fan but he’s amazing in this. Nobody could have played it any better. I’d like to see 50 First Dates,
Adam Sandler’s hair!!
I know! Do you remember a band called A A Flock of Seagulls? That was one hell of a hairstyle!
Itโs the little thing that counts . Itโs a great movie.
It really is a gem. And sometimes in life there are those moments where what someone said just resonates.
