(skating judge) Bob Rawlinson: I’ll deny I ever said it honey, but you’re just not the image we want to portray. You’re representing our country for fuck’s sake. We need to see a wholesome American family. You just refuse to play along.
Tonya Harding: I don’t have a wholesome American family.
Dan Triandiflou and Margot Robbie in I, Tonya (2017), which tells of the difficult background of American Olympic figure skater Tonya Harding and the circumstances regarding the attack on rival Nancy Kerrigan.
Great quote
Thanks. How familiar are you with the story?
Tonya was a slag of epic proportions. Of course, I’ll deny it if anyone asks. 😎
I wouldn’t say that at all or phrase it like that. She sure did have a difficult life.
she attacked an innocent rival. Figures you’d have sympathy for such a vile, violent creature. 😂
It was a really interesting movie – I remember that Tonya even attended the primiere of it!
She certainly had an unpleasant background. I remember reading about the attack and wondering why no one had made a movie of it. It just seemed so extraordinary.
I really like this film. I like how they structured the story, and Margot Robbie is utterly fab as Tonya.
So much going on. Robbie is astonishing. I remember seeing Alison Janney in The West Wing and then she seemed to go quiet for a bit. So glad the past few years she’s been showcasing her talents. She totally deserved the Oscar.
