You can’t start a fire without a spark
Taken from the song Dancing in the Dark by New Jersey’s finest Bruce Springsteen, from the iconic Born in the USA album (1984). Who doesn’t love Bruce? My favourite song of his will always be Secret Garden (with a soft spot for Thunder Road too), but had to add this to the set. Especially as it has such a great sax solo.
wow, 35 years ago!
wonderful memories of Bruce and the band.
i went to the concerts
which went from large and crowded to
too large and too crowded. 🙂
He’s something special, isn’t he? He is The Boss after all. Do you have a favourite of his?
so many great songs. at the moment
i’m having fond memories from the first album
i bought in ’73. Here’s he performs it in 2013!
Nice! His influence doesn’t stop there. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LtmeIu0dEqQ
Bruce is so inspiring. Love this song and video…the video featuring Courtney Cox. We all wanted to be her, to get up on that stage 🙂
Such an upbeat song. Secret Garden is still my favourite but this is second. Always makes me smile when I listen to this. And it’s such a bonus that she became famous.
I love The Ghost of Tom Joad…the harmonica never fails to give me goosebumps.
Indeed! And the lyrics too. And anything that has a literary reference always gets bonus points from me.
Isn’t the line so profound when you ponder upon it?
Yes. I’ve listened to this song more than I can count, but it still strikes me as profound even now.
