When you watch our movies, it was just the two of us. All we had was each other.
Stan Laurel (Steve Coogan) in the delightful Stan and Ollie (2018), which tells of the duo’s attempts to make a comeback years after their Hollywood heyday and the tension that resurfaces as they start performing again. You can find other quotes from the film here.
i’m wanting to see this, didn’t think so at first, but the more i hear about it…
It’s a charming film. Wonderfully acted and full of humorous and poignant moments. Even if you don’t see it at the cinema it will be perfectly enjoyable on a TV screen.
Saw the trailer and thought it looked good.
It’s very enjoyable. It’s a reminder how double acts can have a fascinating relationship away from the cameras. And You change see why they were so popular. Perfect casting. Funny to think the same actors were in the new Sherlock film. It looked terrible.
Gross. I wouldn’t watch it if you paid me.
I loved every minute of this movie. What a wonderful little thing. I really don’t know who I liked better — Coogan as Stan Laurel or Reilly as Oliver Hardy.
I know. I couldn’t split them either. It’s a joy. Especially when they do the train station sketch.
This film STILL hasn’t come to a theatre near me. Am getting very impatient to see it.
That is annoying!
I adored Laurel and Hardy when I was a kid. I’ve got to see this. Thank you for bringing it to my attention!
I want to see more of their old films now too. Just completely natural comedic timing and a wonderful double act.
