Where heaven waits, those golden gates and back again
You take me to and lead me through oblivion
This is the morning of our love
It’s just the dawning of our love
Taken from the song I Feel You by English artists Depeche Mode, from their studio album Songs of Faith and Devotion (1993). It was the Basildon group’s first album to top both the UK and US charts and is one of my favourites, including Walking in my Shoes and In Your Room. They’re an incredible act and I’ve been fortunate enough to see them live.
I love this song. I’ve seen them live, too. Great show!
Awesome. When and where? For me it was a few years ago in London. Such a highlight. I normally buy a t-shirt to commemorate a gig, but I couldn’t decide between two so bought them both. Still wear them regularly.
It was a long time ago… late 1980s… in Boston. (Oh no, showing my age!)
That was before Violator. Some good stuff even then. See You, Everything Counts, Never Let Me Down Again, People are People…
I LOVE Depeche Mode.
They’re amazing. As well as all the songs I’ve quoted already, there’s John the Revelator, A Pain that I’m Used To, Halo, Blue Dress, Wrong, Home, It’s No Good, Personal Jesus, Useless…
I’ve been a fan forever – I have all their albums, I’ve seen them live in France and over here too and of course I’ve got the t-shirts too 😁
Great answer! You can tell from my last comment what my favourite albums are. Violator, Songs of Faith and Devotion, Playing the Angel and Ultra. I know you’re supposed to pick one, but 😂
Such an amazing song. Have you watched Sense8? It is used to great effect in the feature length finale.
I haven’t. You’d recommend it? I’ve never heard of it. How great it’s used so well. It’s a wonderful song.
It’s my favourite ever show.
That’s enough of a recommendation for me 🙂
