If all the world is a stage, where is the audience sitting?
Atheism is a non-prophet organization.
Don’t sweat the petty things and don’t pet the sweaty things.
Have you ever noticed that anybody driving slower than you is an idiot, and anyone going faster than you is a maniac?
I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, “Where’s the self-help section?” She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
Just cause you got the monkey off your back doesn’t mean the circus has left town.
In America, anyone can become president. That’s the problem.
Well, if crime fighters fight crime and fire fighters fight fire, what do freedom fighters fight? They never mention that part to us, do they?
Just several examples of the outrageously gifted and highly influential comedian George Carlin (1937 – 2008). Happy to tackle any topic within his lifetime, the cynical New Yorker is frequently voted among the best stand ups.
I LOVE George! He was my kind of comedian. Dark and satirical and elegant.
He had a wonderful voice for comedy. So easy to listen to. My favourite bit of his was when he analyses how words have changed so as to sound nicer. It’s scathing and hilarious.
I like his classic 10 Curse Words You Cannot Say….although now, I believe you can say most….
Wasn’t he awesome in Dogma?
He was ahead of his time for sure. He’s one of those comics you could look at he clock and realise you’ve been watching him for ages without realising. Just so effortless. And he really did make you think. Very provocative and he did challenge you.
He was a great one, very funny about ordinary things. Original
One of a kind for sure. Unafraid to take on any topic. And very influential and inspirational to later comics.
What an amazing mind he had, loved him!
So comfortable on stage. Made it look so effortless. And that voice was just wonderful.
Too funny! 😄
Happy to oblige 🙂
