I’ve a huge passion for music, as shown by the fact I’ve listed 119 different artists (and counting) on my Music page, as well as numerous others in posts such as Impressive Foreign Language Songs, Mostly Instrumental Songs and Awesome Songs of Seven Minutes Plus. But while those later links have covered artists as varied as Metallica, The Stone Roses, LCD Soundsystem, Aphex Twin, Grandmaster Flash and Moenia, there are still some fantastic singers and groups I’ve not yet managed to include. So here’s a post celebrating those I haven’t yet included, fittingly with an extra song shoved in. How many of them do you recognise? Which was the one you heard most recently?
wow – I know some of the songs here and that gunshot one was new – quite artsy
She’s great. Possibility is another favourite.
yes – and the “drama” in the video was “different” – I had to look up the year because it had an 80s feel to it.
Was it 80s? I think not – but the jacket she wore – the make-up – older car – just some of the things…
but the sound quality felt more modern.
hm,
She is current but yes, she does have a vibe from before, including fashion style.
thanks for the reply – and hope you have a nice day Alex
Bed time here so will return tomorrow and give these a listen. 😊
Please do. I’m curious which you like best.
Broken Wings, great 80’s pop, excellent production techniques, fab bass, good tune 🙂
Hadn’t heard of Incubus but loved that bass line, will be looking into them.
Gunshot,- was too engrossed in the video to hear the song lol, I want some of what she’s on! 🤪
They started out as session musicians so not surprising that their talent was so high. Everytime I listen to Are You In I get transported to a beach. Or a pool. And for sure. Especially on a Monday morning.
Cool list! It’s like an updated version of.a mixtape. You have great taste in music so I know these are definitely worth a listen
Thanks. They did a study recently of what they missed from before and that was top. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.independent.co.uk/life-style/gadgets-and-tech/old-technology-things-people-miss-1471-mix-tapes-vhs-photo-albums-a8193726.html%3Famp
You’re welcome. Neat
I know most of these and I have actually seen a few of them live.
Nice. Some real electric bands in there. Queens of the Stone Age must be sensational. Nice they keep doing so well at The Brits.
Nil point, I’m afraid
Don’t worry. I know you recognise a lot from the main Music page.
The White Stripes song I heard recently. I enjoy Niki and the Dove too, they have some terrific songs, a pity this Swedish group is still relatively under-the-radar, I’m waiting for their big international breakthrough. I played that Grimes album a lot the year it was released, arguably her best album.
Scandinavia sure come up with some great bands. Here’s hoping they make it bigger. Nice to meet other Grimes fans.
I recognised the White Stripes, the number of listens on these videos is amazing, what’s the genre electro? My younger brother listens to lots of music like this.
That riff is amazing! You hear it at pretty much any football match these days. I’ve always seen them as an ally-indie band but I guess genres are more flexible than ever these days.
