Kissing like a bandit stealing time
Underneath the sycamore tree
Cupid by the hour sends valentines
To my sweet lover and me
Slowly, Surely
Yours appetite is more than I know
Sweetly, Softly
I’m falling in love with you
The opening verse of US number one Wishing Well by the super slick Terence Trent D’Arby, from his debut studio album Introducing the Hardline According to Terence Trent D’Arby (1988)
One of the songs used to great effect in the “Black Mirror” episode, “San Junipero”.
I haven’t got to that stage yet, though looking forward to it. On early series 2 at the moment. It’s great it’s been such a popular series. Short stories and technology are a great mix.
I love this song! Happily it has been stuck in my head all day since visiting your post. So thanks!
It’s such a cool song. It was from 1988 but could easily have released anytime since then. Just timeless. And so slick and sweet.
I’m not familiar with the song or artist but curious to check him out now
I’m confident you’ll like both. His debut album epecially is something else. Make sure to check out Sign Your Name too.
Very cool. Thanks
I remember when this song came out. It was everywhere for about six months. TTD was thought to be the next Prince, then he pretty much vanished. Oh well. Still a great song, though.
That whole album was pretty special, though saying it was as good as The Beatles wasn’t his best idea.
Love a bit of Terrence Trent D’Arby, especially Holding On To You and Let Her Down Easy.
So much talent. Made it seem effortless.
My mum loves this song as well as Sign Your Name.
