Film Quiz: Non-World War II War Films

After doing a quiz based on World War II films, I had to show that there was more to war on film than those that depict the 1939 – 1945 conflict. Covering various different battles, the films below cover a wide range in tone, style and narrative. How many do you have? Do you have a favourite among them? if you can work out mine, feel free to give yourself an extra point.

    • Good stuff on the scoring Laura. It’s actually Paths of Glory. It’s such a powerful and thought-provoking film. I love that trivia about Bogart and John Huston on the filming of The African Queen. They didn’t get sick like the other cast and crew because they only drank whisky ha.

  1. 15/15 – I LOVE war movies 🙂

Pick only one??? that’s tough. I especially love Platoon and Black Hawk Down.

I saw ur answer by accident, PoG is a great one that I need to revisit 🙂

  2. 13 out of 15 again. Knew one would be All Quiet on the Western Front but couldn’t bring the title to my mind. La Grande Illusion? I know nothing about it, how would you describe it?
