So I look in your direction
But you pay me no attention, do you
I know you don’t listen to me
‘Cause you say you see straight through me, don’t you
The opening lines of the song Shiver by Coldplay. From the English band’s debut album Parachutes (2000), it was the follow up to the hugely successful Yellow. Here’s a photo of when I saw them live, where they closed with this song.
This is a great song. I love the lyrics (to pretty much every Coldplay song).
So much talent. I’ve quoted The Scientist and Yellow, but could easily add more. Lovers in Japan is the other one I’ve listened to most. How about you?
Oh wow, too many to list. Lately, I’ve been stuck on Swallowed In The Sea and Til Kingdom Come… but it changes…!
Great shouts. I have to add Strawberry Swing too.
Oh yes! I love that one, too!
Great lyrics. Who can’t relate? Love all their stuff. So much talent.
Not their most famous song but one that’s always stood out to me. They do have some collection.
I personally can’t get into Coldplay, but those are some interesting lines.
There was a time when they seemed to be on every film out there. Sure that annoyed a lot of people. I do like them though. And they do have some great songs.
I love Coldplay.
They’ve got such talent. Strange they’ve only had one UK number one single when they have so many strong songs. Most people just buy the album I guess.
That’s always surprised me. Especially given their output.
Their only good album… and then it all went horribly wrong.
Wouldn’t go that far! Ha. But yeah, an amazing debut album.
