Line(s) of the Day #SilenceoftheLambs

This film has been named to the 2011 National Film Registry by the Librarian of Congress.

I do wish we could chat longer, but… I’m having an old friend for dinner. Bye.

Hannibal Lecter (Sir Anthony Hopkins) in the cinematic masterpiece Silence of the Lambs (1991), one of only three films to win the highly-prized quintet of Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress and Best Original/Adapted Screenplay. The psychological thriller told of an FBI agent who must work with a manipulative killer to catch another criminal. It was directed by Jonathan Demme, who sadly passed away earlier this week at the age of 73.

  1. I love this line as much as the film. I do want to revisit it. Ironically I wrote this line on a comments section for someone who reviewed the movie heh. The ambiguity of that one line seems so powerful and eerie with that touch of sophistication. I also like to have a friend or two for dinner..

  2. There’s such a chilling delivery in the way Hopkins say this… and of course that ‘Chianti’ line still gives me the chills!

  3. I love the way Hopkins delivers everything. He is so talented! I am not a fan of Westworld, unless its the scenes he is in. Lol. There is no way to say anything he does is bad .He is so smooth.
