Line(s) of the Day #TheXFiles

mulder and scully

Fox Mulder: After all you’ve seen. After all you’ve told me you’ve seen. The account filled with medical files, the beings moving past you, the implant in your neck. Why do you refuse to believe?
Dana Scully: Believing is the easy part. I need more than you. I need proof.
Fox Mulder: You think that believing is easy?

Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny in the seminal paranormal drama The X-Files (1993 – 2002) (2016 -). The quote highlights how the trusting yet complex relationship between the two, with Mulder aware of how his views on the supernatural are mocked by outsiders and Scully desperate to find a logic to explain them.

Gr8at: Osterley Park

The weather may be pretty erratic at the moment today in London but it wasn’t so long ago that it was gorgeous sunshine. When I went to see the Jurassic Kingdom exhibition I saw the wonderful trees, gorgeous Middle Lake and wide-open space within Osterley Park, so just had to take some photographs to share with you.

Let Forever Be

And how does it feel like to wake up in the sun?
And how does it feel like to shine on everyone?
How does it feel like to let forever be?

The opening lines of The Chemical Brothers song Let Forever Be from the album Surrender (1999). The video for the song has long been considered one of the best ever, and is a true representation of the creative talents of Michel Gondry.

Line(s) of the Day #Deadpool

Deadpool and girlfriend

You don’t need to be a superhero to get the girl. The right girl will bring out the hero in you.

Wade Wilson / Deadpool (Ryan Reynolds) in the action comedy superhero Deadpool (2016). The wise-cracking eponymous character is hell-bent on finding the man who made him a superhero with drastic consequences.

Things to See: Jurassic Kingdom

Who doesn’t love dinosaurs? They’re huge, aggressive, have all kinds of varieties and once ruled the Earth. And being extinct, it’s not like you can see them at the local zoo. You can definitely say I’m a fan. I quoted the original film here, a review of the 2015 film here and a display of dinosaurs that helped promoted the movie here. I also photographed a dinosaur while playing golf here, not forgetting the teaser shot I put of Jurassic Kingdom here.

Arcade Fire Reflektor album

When you look in the sky, just try looking inside
God knows what you might find

Taken from the song Here Comes The Night Time by Arcade Fire from their fourth studio album Reflektor (2013). The album was a huge success and among other achievements topped the chart both sides of the Atlantic.  I’m a huge fan of the Canadian artists and saw the Reflektor tour in 2014, which you can see a review of here.

Line(s) of the Day #Michael McIntyre

Michael macIntyre

When I went to the first time [the Edinburgh Festival Fringe] my pre-sales were one. I had one ticket sold. Which is quite depressing. Even more depressing when it was a buy one get one free deal. The one person couldn’t even find even find another person for free.
