I know there’s something in the wake of your smile.
I get a notion from the look in your eyes, yeah.
You’ve built a love but that love falls apart.
Your little piece of heaven turns too dark.
Taken from the American chart topper song Listen to your Heart by the Swedish band Roxette, from their second studio album Look Sharp (1989).
Great song and a snark free comment from yours unruly
I’ve been listening to a lot of Scandinavian music recently. Ace of Base, Abba and The Cardigans.
Love Abba. If you aren’t familiar with their song “Our Last Summer” check it out. I don’t think it was one of their more popular tunes but it’s a favorite of mine. Happy Sunday.
Classic!!!
Takes me right back π Do you remember Whigfied too and Saturday Night? Haha
Of course! That was a school disco classic! Haha
They were HUGE in South Africa. I think they did a sold out reunion tour there relatively recently. Even my granddad liked them.
It doesn’t surprise me your granddad has good taste. Some cool musical genes in your family π
Oooh I used to be obsessed with this song haha!
You had great taste. And presumably still do I mean haha. So many great Scandinavians bands. Are there any Dutch bands you really recommend?
Did you watch Eurovision last night? Douwe Bob is pretty great π (not a band but still haha) Di-rect and Krezip are good (I used to be really into them, don’t know why I don’t listen to them anymore haha). I can’t think of other bands right now, but Nielsen has some fun songs, especially ‘Sexy als ik dans’ and ‘Hoe’ (which is a collab with Miss Montreal, another Dutch singer). Um Ilsen de Lange and The Common Linnets which she is a part of (if you watch Eurovision you might recognise them π ) and that’s all that comes to mind right now haha. Nielson is the only one of these that sings in Dutch, all the others sing in English π
Now that is an answer.

Haha ππ
