The storm is breaking or so it seems
We’re too young to reason, too grown up to dream
Taken from the song Slave to Love by Bryan Ferry, from his UK chart-topper solo album Boys and Girls (1985). I’m a big fan of his elegant, velvety smooth voice, especially with his work on Roxy Music. Jealous Guy and More than ThisΒ are my personal favourites.
I loved listening to Roxy Music! More than this was a huge favorite of mine!
Yeah. It was the first song of theirs I quoted on the blog. Exquisite intro, lovely riff and an Autumn daydream vibe.
I’ve always kind of felt that Bryan Ferry can do no wrong. Years after it’s release, “Love Is the Drug” became one of my favorites.
With a voice like that, and how much he’s put in Roxy Music, I’m not sure he can either haha. Nice choice too.
Thanks. π
How about ‘If There is Something’?
A cool song and album. That cover really sets the tone for their later covers too, doesn’t it?
Very much so.
Bryan Ferry is a God. However, you need to work on your spelling of favorite. You silly little Brits. You would think the origins of the English language began in your neck of the woods or some nonsense like that.
U cannot be serious? π
Nope. It goes against my self defense mechanism code. True story, bro! π
Oh, Alex! You know how I feel about Bryan Ferry! ππππππππ
I’m still keeping my fingers crossed on your behalf π
Fantastic love. Coincidentally when I played Grand Theft Auto:Vice City I’d listen to More Than This and other 80s power ballads while doing car chases and shootouts.
I used to love those GTA. I normally play video games with the sound off and my own music playing, but I always kept it on for them. So much awesome 80s music.
“More Than This” is not only one of my favorite songs, but I used it in my current novel.
You are lady of talent and great taste π
It was great back in the day hearing a “new” Roxy Music album. They were an impeccable group of people.
And so stylish and chic too.
The guy who played Neville in the HP movies could play Bryan Ferry at least based upon appearance.
He sure changed from the films didn’t he!
They all did. Daniel is the only one who looks a bit “rough” compared to the other actors.
This is such a good song and great timing as you said on my review of 9 1/2 Weeks.
Such an incredible voice. Real style too.
Style indeed.
Such a cool bloke!
If anyone asks, I’m pretending he’s my uncle π
That is a fantastic idea π
I love this song!
One of those that songs that just comes under the word gorgeous.
