With the release of Zoolander 2, Ben Stiller is right in the news again. How well do you know the New Yorker who doesn’t have to look far for a showbiz connection? After all,his mother Anne Meara was an actress while his father Jerry is an actor comedian, and he’s acted alongside his wife Christine Taylor several times. Do you have a favourite film of his? Does his involvement in a film, either in front of the screen or behind it, make you more likely to see them?

Only when they are free. I will never pay to see a Ben Stiller movie.
Fair enough.
11/12! Apparently I need to re-watch Reality Bites!
Dam near perfect! Which of them is your favourite? Has he ever been in a film that had a better line than “we’ve got a bleeder!”
8/12. He’s one of those actors who annoys the shit out of me… except when he doesn’t.
I’ve seen 7 of them so would have got a similar score probably. I was really disappointed with The Secret Life of Walter Mitty. And in case you were wondering, I’ve never had the hairstyle from the second photo haha.
Wow I totally forgot Ben is in Reality Bites! I quite like that one. Haven’t seen The Secret Life of Walter Mitty yet, but might give it a rent one of these days.
I’m a big fan of James Thurber, the guy who wrote the story it’s based on, but the film did underwhelm me a bit. Would be super curious what you thought. I’ve never seen Reality Bites. I need to get round to it.
Scrolled past the answers, promise! Tougher than I thought. Here’s my answers –

Hi Alex! *waves*
Hi Emma. The sea waves too 😉
Not bad score 🙂 His films contain important messages. You need to be very careful zipping trousers, don’t hit a volleyball too hard at someone’s face, it’s always useful to dodge spanners and superheroes aren’t always cool haha.
I was waiting for you to mark my answers and give me my score then remembered the answers ARE actually on the post haha, okay I’ll check those out now!
And yes VERY important messages to remember! 🙂

Ha! I bet George Michael must have had that scene in mind when he wrote the song 😉
Definitely! Of course 🙂
Only got two wrong, he really cracks me up as an actor.
He’s got a very consistent success rate for sure. Which film have you seen most often btw?
Meet the Parents.
Nothing resonated I hope haha. The volleyball scene is probably my favourite. They say he doesn’t take it seriously enough. And when he does…
That basketball scene is great.
Megamind & The Secret Life of Walter Mitty 😀
I’ve not seen Megamind. Hope you liked it 🙂
I absolutely loved the Walter Mitte movie, but the (almost) ending with Sean Penn was the moment worth waiting for, Alex. I find Ben Stiller humble and willing to do almost anything to get a laugh. I knew 8/12 so 2/3rd of your list. Not very good but better than some. 🙂
It’s a useful score for sure. His TV cameos make me laugh too. it’s definitely in his genes. His dad always cracked me up when he was on Seinfeld.
