Line(s) of the Day #ThunderRoad

Thunder Road

There were ghosts in the eyes of all the boys you sent away
They haunt this dusty beach road
in the skeleton frames of burned-out Chevrolets

Taken from Thunder Road, the opening track of Bruce Springsteen’s breakthrough third album, Born to Run (1975). Although unreleased as a single, it has been regularly performed by ‘The Boss’ on live performances, and is widely considered one of his finest songs.

  1. One of the finest songs ever recorded by the Boss in my opinion. It’s as if he is painting a picture of striking imagery for us with every word.

  2. It most definitely one of his finest and my favorite! The way the song leads into a crescendo by the end always takes my breath away. I followed Springsteen in the late 1970’s & 80’s attending a few concerts a week sometimes through 5 states- amazing every time!
