I don’t know anything with certainty, but seeing the stars makes me dream.

One of the all-time great painters Vincent van Gogh (1853 – 1890), whose love of stars was reflected in some of his most famous paintings, as well as other quotes like this.

Starry Night was one of the first paintings I remember really adoring, years before I was into even into art. I’ve been lucky enough to see a lot of his paintings when I was in Amsterdam too. Do you have a favourite painter or one piece of art that stands out to you?

  Oh, I wish I had more art knowledge than I do! I just know that I like modern art – I try to go to the Tate Modern anytime I’m in London. Van Gogh is definitely a favorite – yeah, I went to the museum in Amsterdam. Loved it. 🙂 Also a big fan of Picasso (and went to his museum in Barcelona – I’m very happy about that too). A favorite piece of his is a cubism one I can’t find a link to. And, well, I love H.R. Giger and was lucky enough to see some of his stuff at the Tate Modern several years ago. 🙂 Who do you like?

  I’ve been to the museum in Amsterdam, but not the Picasso one in Barcelona. Didn’t have time to go there, or even the Nou Camp. More reason to go back! HR Giger’s work is very striking. Just checked his stuff out.
  
  I do like Picasso, Cezanne and van Gogh tonnes. These two though were just extraordinary.
