As it was my birthday last week, and a party on the weekend, I just had to put up a themed quiz to celebrate. Below are six films featuring highly distinctive, and let’s be honest, mostly disastrous, birthday parties. Ever been to a horrible party? How will you do?
Answers below
1. The Birds (1963)
2. Sixteen Candles (1984)
3. Problem Child (1990)
4. Liar Liar (1997)
5. Old School (2003)
6. New Moon (2009)
happy b-day Alex!
in honor of ur b-day, I only got 3/6 🙂
Thanks Rob. Making the list really got me thinking. There aren’t as many birthday style films when you really think about it.
Happy belated birthday! 5/6! 🙂
Thanks so much 🙂
Happy belated birthday, Alex!!!!
It was really nice. Thanks Ann 🙂
Happy belated birthday Alex! 🙂
Hope you had a great day!
Love & Hugz ❤
I did yeah. Thanks for stopping by. Hope you had a nice weekend.
Really cool idea for a quiz. 3/6 for me (somehow I missed The Birds; then Problem Child I’ve never even heard of; and New Moon the same thing)
Happy belated birthday Alex, hope no birds dove in and attacked your guests at random. 😉
There’s quite a collection of disasters involved here haha. Getting dumped on your birthday, your birthday being forgotten by everyone, one of your guests being shot by a tranquiliser dart and destroying everything…
Hope you had a great birthday, Alex!!! 🙂 Great quiz once again – I got all but number five (which I have seen – just don’t remember it well apparently!).
That was a tough picture. To get five is a great score. I had a great time thanks 🙂
Happy birthday! I got 4/6. That party scene from Old School absolutely kills me. In fact that whole movie cracks me up.
It has so many funny scenes. I love it when the Luke Wilson character says “When you said we’d be near the university I didn’t think you meant this near” as they’re opposite the campus. Or when “Frank the Tank” makes this great argument and then can’t remember it as he had an out of body experience haha.
I also can’t hear Total Eclipse of the Heart without mentally adding the extra emphasis if you know what I mean.
I hear you! 🙂
4/6. Should’ve gotten 5, but I drew a blank on Old School for some reason. Happy belated birthday!!!
That was a tough pic. A solid score Wendell 🙂
Happy birthday Alex!
I only got one – and the New Moon one at that! (ashamed)
Thanks. Did you see all the twilight films? I saw the first two.
I saw them all. They aren’t all as bad as people make them to be 🙂
I read the books on holiday and thought the first three were nice enough. I really wasn’t fond of the last one though, including the ending. I thought the films were superbly cast, and really liked the soundtracks in the ones I saw.
Zilch 🙂
Always another quiz to improve on. Next one will be sequels most likely, as inspired by today’s post.
Belated Happy Birthday, though
Thanks so much Derrick 🙂
Happy Birthday! I’m apparently not very good at these quizzes but at least I got The Birds.
There are all kinds of topics in previous quizzes which I’m sure you’ll do better in. Feel free to suggest some ideas too if you want.
Just the three for me. Started off well and went downhill from there. Belated happy birthday Alex!
Thanks 🙂 Well done for getting Problem Child. That’s a film you don’t hear much of these days.
Belated Birthday wishes Blogging Buddy!!!!
How ‘young’ are you now? 🙂
From the quiz, 4/6!!! I didn’t get ‘Problem Child’ & ‘Old School’ (neither have I seen them). Haven’t watched ‘Sixteen Candles’ either, but I have seen that photograph numerous times in conjunction with the said movie title, thus I knew.
That’s very kind, thanks. getting four right is a perfectly respectable score. John Hughes made better films than Sixteen Candles but it does have a real charm that’s really disarming. Great post on James Dean btw.
Thanks I just came across your comment on that site. 🙂
