Whether looking for some form of independence or something more specific, there are more than a few fun films that show the explanatory side of children. How many of the six films below will you deduce?
Answers below
1.Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (1971)
2. The Goonies (1985)
3. Stand by Me (1986)
4. Jumanji (1995)
5. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005)
6. Moonrise Kingdom (2012)
Woo Hoo, I got them all right.
Great stuff Vinnie. Just seen ‘The Body’ episode of Buffy. Expect a visit to your site soon!
That’s an emotional episode Alex.
One of many words I could use.
It was heart breaking to watch, I was in bits.
4 out of 6! Not bad 🙂
That’s your highest score, isn’t it? 🙂
I believe it is! *happy dance*
5/6 mistook Jumanji for Jurassic Park.
A strong score. Zathura sounded like an unofficial Jumanji 2.
Got ’em!
Nice one Cindy. Where does Moonrise Kingdom rank for you in terms of Wes Anderson’s films?
Right up there! I thought it was utterly charming. I love how Wes Anderson combines the ridiculous with the serious. His quirky wise films I wholly appreciate.
I only got the first one but I loved that movie!
Read the book but haven’t seen either this one or the Depp remake. Such a great story. It goes well on stage too I hear.
I read the book when I was young. On stage would be good! How would the big blueberry work out though? 😉
5/6 for me. Missed The Chronicles of Narnia
That was the one of the toughest one of the six for sure. Strong score though. Have an awesome weekend Tom.
You as well Alex, thanks! 🙂
Four out of six, I didn’t get the last two.
Neat stuff. I don’t know how much of a Wes Anderson fan you are, but Moonrise Kingdom really is a delight if you get the chance.
I very much liked “The Grand Budapest Hotel.” I will have to give “Moonrise Kingdom” a watch.
Got them all! Totally my type of movies. 🙂
I was 99% confident you’d get them all. And about 1000% you’d get the third one haha.
You know me so well 😉
I got the first one
Are you a big Roald Dahl fan?
No. It just coincided with two children’s childhood. 🙂
100% Moonrise Kingdom! Moonrise Kingdom!
That was the film that inspired the whole quiz actually. Right up there among Wes Anderson’s best.
It’s so good and truly gets better every time I watch. That’s cliche but so true.
There really aren’t anywhere near enough good coming of age films. Even if there though, it would still stand out. It just has such charm. And that treehouse haha.
Well said. Now i’m going to watch it again.
Didn’t get the last one. Am not a Wes Anderson fan really so didn’t watch that one. I think Christian Bale in Empire of the Sun has to be the ultimate ‘adventurous’ child. Best child actor performance I’ve ever seen. So many hollywood films, the kids are actually quite annoying and behave unrealistically it’s one of my pet peeves.
I really do need to see that film again. I remember seeing Bale in American Psycho and just being amazed by how good he was. One of the few child star successful as an adult too.
6/6! I love all of these films!
Awesome stuff Anna. Any others you can think of that could could have been added?
I only got 2 out of 6 haha
The glass is a third full 🙂
Yay! 6/6! 🙂
