And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.
One of the writers I read most as a child, Roald Dahl (1916 – 1990). My fondness for Dahl has been obvious from posts where I rate him as one of my favourite short story writers, have a soft spot for his TV show and have mentioned him in award posts when talking about reading influences.
Brilliant man. My favorite book of his was “The Twits”; I think I still have it someplace 🙂
Growing up mine was probably Fantastic Mr Fox. Our teacher used to reach us a chapter a week of different books of his. I got fed up of waiting and so used to read ahead. Such an imagination he had. Just wonderful.
I believe in magic!
One dream one soul one prize one goal
One golden glance of what should be
Okay, that’s Queen, but it’s still A Kind of Magic 😉
How wonderful! I am taking my little girl to see Matilda at the theatre in Sydney soon!
Sounds a wonderful trip. I’m still hoping to get to a golden ticket to the chocolate factory 😉
He knew how to live life filled with fun, laughter and wonder, Alex. 🙂
That’s for sure. He had such a mischievous imagination. I’d really like to go to his museum and find out even more about his writing habits.
I should know there is a Roald Dahl museum! 🙂
It’s not in London or I’d have gone ages ago. I should drive there really.
I am hoping someday to go to England, Ireland and Scotland. Dad’s heritage and if possible, go to Sweden and Germany, to check out Mom’s. 🙂
I’m guessing you watch Who do you think you are then? Only seen a few episodes, but always so many shocks.
I believe in magic. 🍄 🌟🍄
Roald Dahl was an amazing children’s author 💕
The BFG adaptation is coming out soon 🙂
