I’m lying in my bed
The blanket is warm
This body will never be safe from harm
Still feel your hair, black ribbons of coal
Touch my skin to keep me whole
The opening lines of Mojo Pin, the first song from Jeff Buckley’s debut album Grace (1994). Buckley’s tragic death at the age of 30 robbed us all of hearing more of his gifted musician who had a heavenly voice. I covered this album as part of a feature here.
What a loss! Thanks for sharing his words here, Alex.
I was listening to him last night before I went to sleep. If I could sound like any singer it would be him. I think you’ll like my comments to him in the link above 🙂
I haven’t gotten around to it but I want to see the documentary. I think I have to buy it with an album it’s a duo pack or something.
I know! I need to see it too.
yesss!!! 🙂
I knew there were other Jeff Buckley fans on WordPress! What a voice. Heavenly.
