Not all animals on screen are cute and fluffy. Even some of the rabbit ones can be kind of sinister. And with the release of the fourth in the Jurassic Park series, it’s the perfect time to look at some other no-pet creatures on screen. How many can you work out?
Answers below
1. King Kong (1933)
2. Plant of the Apes (1968)
3. Jaws (1975)
4. Anaconda (1997)
5. Lake Placid (1999)
6. Snakes on a Plane (2006)
Well, I guessed correctly with Jaws and Lake Placid, but I bombed on the others. Sigh 😦
Always next time 🙂 I remember seeing Anaconda at the cinema and thinking it was dreadful. The original King Kong is cool though.
Must be getting rusty. I only got 3 even though I’ve seen all 6. Terrible.
That was the toughest photo for Jaws I could find. Really made me jump when I saw it in the film.
Great quiz! I got the first three, Alex.
Not bad. I doubt anyone will get all of them right in this quiz. I should try and do a films quiz for you. Maybe one of films set in Boston?.
What a nice idea, Alex! How about films before 1998, when my son Aaron was born, and I stopped being such a film fanatic?
I’ll have a think. I could get a lot of ideas from your blog.
I only got the first one. Does that date me?
it’s a classic. It was tough to find an image that wasn’t of King Kong or Fay Wray. I really do recommend you see Jaws though. Fantastic film. Cool book too.
I agree Jaws was a great film. Don’t remember the scene – that’s all. Perhaps that dates me 🙂
Probably a good thing. I think it’s one of the times I’ve most jumped out of my seat. How are you for horror films?
Fine – went in my teens mostly for a laugh and a glimpse of female flesh. Thought ‘The Blair Witch Project’ a boring waste of time. Enjoyed ‘The Woman in Black’
Great quiz and the selection. Surprisingly, even though I have watched 4 out those 6 movies, I couldn’t crack even one! I am left wondering why so….

They are tricky pics. It is a tough quiz, no worries. Better luck next time 🙂
WHOA, these are some nasty animals! I totally forgot about that scene from Jaws, that’s so freaky!
Quite different from the ones in Happy Feet haha. Jaws is a great book too btw. I actually read it before I saw the film.

The only one I didn’t get was Anaconda.
It was a pretty dreadful film. Great score dude. Impressive stuff. Jennifer Lopez came a long way from that film for sure ha.
She sure came a long way indeed.
I’ve watched all these films – even Snakes on a Plane (while I was on a plane 😉 )
Did that make it more fun or more scary?
I kept an eye on the overhead lockers!
I knew King Kong and due to Samuel Jackson plugging it on a talk show I knew the Snakes on a Plane photo. I usually know films so will need to come back and check out more another day/night. 🙂
Yeah. I remember the producers wanted to change the name but he would have quit the project if they had. I guess it is an accurate title.
