Great line. This from a true classic of a novel. Ever read “The Black Count: Glory, Revolution, Betrayal, and the Real Count of Monte Cristo”? A non-fiction look at the man Alexandre based this upon, his father. Another fine read.

Fantastic quote! My dad and I read this together when I was 11 and it’s one of my favorite childhood memories. We spent a summer reading this, The Man In The Iron Mask, and The Three Musketeers. I think I need to revisit them☺️

Your dad rocks. My parents tried to read to me as a young child but I wanted them to make up stories for me haha. One of the reasons I learnt to read so fast was that I hated waiting until the next week for the teacher to finish the chapter.
