With the exciting release of the eagerly anticipated and already highly acclaimed documentary Kurt Cobain: Montage of Heck, it’s already been discussed how it compares to previous musical documentaries. Turning things around slightly, I’ve decided to see how well you know your fictional bands. Are you a fan of the genre? Do you prefer it to real documentaries on actual bands?   1. I only got The Commitments, funnily enough I watched the scene where they performed Try a Little Tenderness only yesterday. Over 20 years on, the music from that film still rocks!

  2. Well I got three. Am happy to say I got Spinal Tap and The Commitments but embarrassed to admit the third was Josie and the Pussycats!

  3. Four out of six. I knew that the third picture was from the movie “That Thing You Do,” but I couldn’t remember the name of the band. I saw “Scott Pilgrim vs The World” but wasn’t that impressed by it, so I am not surprised I didn’t get the answer to number six.

  4. A very cool quiz. I only guessed the title of the last movie. Haven’t seen Scott Pilgrim yet but I recognized the image. And I can’t believe I didn’t recognize Josie & the Pussycats
