Andre Previn: What were you playing?
Eric Morecambe: Grieg’s Piano Concerto.
Andre Previn: You’re playing all the wrong notes!
Eric Morecambe: I’m playing all the right notes—but not necessarily in the right order.
The legendary sketch from The Morecambe and Wise Show (1968 – 1977), with acclaimed composer Andre Previn.
This was brilliant. I remember it well!
It still makes me laugh. Any other sketches have you in hysterics?
Cheese shop (obviously), Two Ronnies – ‘Got any ‘o’s?’ so many!
Nice choices. Monty Python had a few great ones too.
I’ve been watching ‘Toast of London’ on the computer this past week – if you don’t know it it’s definitely worth checking out (it’s on 4OD). Also, if you’re into ‘sit-coms’, ‘Raised by Wolves ‘ (Channel 4) is great (although it might help living fairly local and my wife coming from Wolverhampton!).
I remember it well. Thanks for the reminder
So glad to hear you’re a fan. The Singin’ in the Rain spoof and breakfast ones were other ones I really remember. My dad is a huge fan so saw them from a young age.
Bliss. I’ve never forgotten it!
Always makes me smile and puts me in a great mood 🙂
excellent… 🙂 P.S. André Prévin was Mia Farrow’s hubby, too…
I always knew about her Frank and Woody, but not Andre. You know your stuff Mélanie 🙂
