There were some hugely powerful films about racial tensions in the 20th century as mentioned in Part 1, but this century has also provided plenty of memorable, provocative and reflective films on the same theme. How will you do? As always, please feel free to comment on how you’ve done, any thoughts on any of the films or any notable omissions.

Exactly the same for me.
11/12 is very impressive. This Is England sure is one of the most intense and provocative films I’ve seen. Defintely not a first date movie haha.
Fab score. You’re on fire. This is England is a hugely powerful film set in the 1980s. As intense as American History X really.

After repeat views of Gran Torino, I thought back to my brothers car…
Near impossible as it is, I hope he gets his clubs one day. That ending really stays with you.
4/6 for me. Good one!
Neat score. Hope you had an awesome weekend.
My weekend was filled with awesome posts and hilarious comments, so I would say it was good! And yours? 🙂
It was fun,. Wish I could skip straight again to the weekend ha.
5/6 for me.
You’re on great form. I really liked Gran Torino especially. A great film by Clint. Dirty Harry is still my fave of his, on or off screen.
I thought Gran Torino was also great.
There aren’t enough of those kind of films.
3/6 🙂 The Help was SO awesome!
Jessica Chastain really is doing some fab films atm.
12 years a slave was such an EXCELLENT movie!
And what a cast!
Totally!
Chiwetel Ejiofor is especially mesmerising mind.
Did that movie win any awards?
It won a few, including Best Picture 🙂
Where was I? I probably knew it at the time and promptly forgot LOL.
No worries. I knew it had won a few but thought that Chiwetel Ejiofor had won Best Actor.
Five out of six. I have never seen “This is England.”
That one caught a few people out. Steven Graham’s performance is just incredible. I had forgotten he was in Snatch.
5/6. I am sure I have seen Clash of the Titans but I can’t remember anything about it.
I liked it when I saw it. It has heart ha. Sports films can be funny. Field of Dreams is my favourite sports film and I don’t even like baseball.
These are all such good movies. Believe it or not, I just saw The Help for the first time a few days ago. I loved it very much! It was really moving.
Jessica Chastain really is carving out a great career too.
2, 3 and 4 – had no idea.
Thanks for stopping by. Glad you’re back blogging 🙂
I never heard of This is England. I love Gran Torino! The Help is great too! Viola Davis is from my home state – Rhode Island. We are so, so proud of her over here. And she gives back to the community too. She is such a great, nice person.
That’s great to hear. I wonder what happened to the car.
