That is such a wonderful quote and it’s so very true! I think we often prosper even more than we would with all the encouragement and support in the world when we are either determined to prove we can do something or to prove others wrong about us.
I was very surprised by Big Eyes in that it was totally different from a typical Burton film. Very straightforward and no real heart to it. Waltz was too much and Adams not enough. As for Unbroken, probably because I am in the middle of reading the book, I found the movie very shallow. But I think that’s the fault of my reading it at the same time. If I didn’t know the story so well maybe it would have affected me more strongly!
I’ve not seen much on Big Eyes. There are so many great films coming out at the moment i’m struggling to find time!

Thanks. it’s a quote that runs through the heart of the film and is very poignant.
I loved this film, even more than Unbroken or Big Eyes- two other biopics of the season!
I’ve not seen the other two. They’re just coming out here. What did you think of them?
