There are so many fantastic rites of passage films. Films where a character goes through huge character development as they begin to deal with adult issues. I just had to make this theme part of the quiz collection. How will you do in working out the six films below? Do you have a favourite? Let me know if you’re a fan of the genre or have any other suggestions for future quizzes.
Answers
1. Stand by Me (1986)
2. The Lost Boys (1987)
3. October Sky (1999)
4. Almost Famous (2000)
5. Juno (2007)
6. The Way Way Back (2013)
I managed another six for six on this quiz, that makes two quizzes in a row. I usually get at least one if not two, occasionally three of the answers wrong. I love Almost Famous and The Lost Boys, so having those films as part of the quiz certainly helped me in achieving a good score.
Jerry Maguire is my favourite Cameron Crowe film, but Almost Famous really is a fab film too. The 80s had some great films for sure. You might like this post https://alexraphael.wordpress.com/2014/07/22/lines-of-the-day-thelostboys/
Great post, gotta love Stand By Me. I actually reviewed it recently if you’re interested.
Arguably the definitive coming of age film 🙂 I’ll have a look.
I got 5/6, missed out on October Sky!
Not a bad score at all. Have you seen it? One of my favourite Gyllenhaal films. Although his latest films looks sensational from the trailer.
5/6, I couldn’t quite remember the title for October Sky. I was thinking Red Sky, or Red October (I don’t know where I was getting red from, maybe I was getting confused with Hunt for Red October although I imagine they are two very different films). Its also the only film out of those I hadn’t seen.
It’s a neat film if you get the chance. Very inspiring. You can so see he had a big future. Neat score Lauren 🙂
3/6. Should’ve been 4, but somehow I drew a complete blank on The Lost Boys. Haven’t October Sky or The Way Way Back, so no way was I getting those.
Not seen The Way Way Back. October Sky is a cool film. Sure you’ll get higher on Part 2 🙂
wow, 6/6 again 🙂
two in a row by you is a record for me 🙂
You’ll have to take up cricket soon 🙂
5 out of 6 – *dances the happiest of dances*
I knew you’d do better 🙂 I’m sure I’ll do an 80s one soon and I wouldn’t be surprised if you got all six.
5/6 this is definitely one of my favourite genres.
And there is a part 2 coming up 🙂
50% not so bad here. 🙂 I got the last three correct.
