The only people for me are the mad ones, the ones who are mad to live, mad to talk, mad to be saved, desirous of everything at the same time, the ones who never yawn or say a commonplace thing, but burn, burn, burn like fabulous yellow roman candles exploding like spiders across the stars.

  1. “Exploding the spiders across the stars” – that’s the best quote I’ve ever heard in my life…

    • It’s really a book you have to read by your late twenties really, when you have less responsibility and more dreams. I read it a while back and even ended up in San Francisco and visiting the Beat Museum. How awesome would it be to found a writing movement?

      • You aren’t most people ha. It’s just whether you can get into that mindset. The characters would probably seem a lot more selfish if you read it as an adult with responsibilities.

  2. I must read this book! I think I’m one of the few who haven’t done so yet.

    • It sure has quite a legacy. I’ve only read it once but really enjoyed it. Around the time I read The Diceman, The Beach, The Wasp Factory and American Psycho. College days haha.
