Awards: Very Inspiring Blogger

I haven’t been too up to date with accepting awards, but receiving two on the same day is impossible to say no to and I am honoured to accept.

My thanks to Cathy at 746 Books and Anastasia at Read and Survive for their recognition. Cathy has a wonderful site where her passion and enthusiasm for literature is inspiring. Even if you don’t think your interest in books is that strong, her site may well persuade you of the great joy to be had as you read her very cool reviews. Anastasia’s huge interest in books (and how best to read them) is a joy, and she has a neat range. Definitely worth popping over.

Very inspiring blogger

7 facts about me

Gambit is my favourite of the X-Men.

Chris Rock is my favourite comedian and I think he is the funniest person on the planet.

If I could change one thing about football it would be stoppage time substitutions. I really hate them.

This is still my favourite of my lyrical lines of the Day.

If I could have been an Olympic athlete, I would have chosen decathlon. I like the idea of the different disciplines and strategies involved.

I have never met anyone else with English as a first language called Raphael.

Miss Piggy is the most popular search engine term for my blog.

I’ve had the site 10 months so choosing 10 blogs seems a good number. In no particular order as always (and no worries if you don’t accept).

Teela Hart – Continuing to fight against domestic violence

Inside the life of Moi – For seeing the humour in everything, even the super frustrating things

Unload and Unwind – Always looking to make a difference

Aussa Lorens – No matter how serious the issue, will find the humour and moral in the story

Wide Awake and Dreaming – Always so honest about everything, including the high and low points within the writing process.

Audrey Hepburn Books – Have seen her blog from the beginning, grow to include all kinds of wonderful development both in the site and her personal life.

I didn’t have my glasses on – Very cool posts, and always inspirational quotes.

Caragale – I don’t know know how she finds the time to host so many wonderful projects and keep such a great site.

Petite Magique – Has such a wide range of poetry and always so supportive of other bloggers.

Film Grimoire – I read so many great film blogs, but her love of silent cinema and cinematography is so wonderfully detailed and infectious.

  1. Congrats! Marvellous! In 40 years in schools I came across no English-as-a-first-language Raphael; and only one with Raphael as a first name.

  2. Congrats! I follow Caragale and I agree, she’s awesome!
That’s my favorite part of the blog awards, all the recommendations (well, nominations if you wanna get technical) so I have new ones to check out now, yay!
    Again, congratulations!!
    : )

  3. Go ahead, bask in the glory of recognition. No one deserves it more than you, except for maybe me. But I just remembered I am an award free blog (not necessarily by choice), so that’s probably why they nominated you! 🙂 Just kidding. Congratulations.

  4. I just sat here racking my brain for any other Raphael’s that I’ve met and nope– I’m right there with ya on that one, I can’t think of a single one! Congrats on the awardS and thank you for the shoutout!

      • I don’t know how to view this – because I’m rubbish at technology and stats, and all that! However, yesterday one of my searches was ‘ how to scare a pothead neighbour’ haha! This made me laugh. There were a few other funny ones, too! (Too rude to write on here!). I think I’ll be checking this out more often, it was quite entertaining!

Oh, and I love the fresh prince!!! I can sing the whole theme tune and everything! 😉

      • Yeah, me too. “Now this is the story all about how my life got flipped turned upside down…”

That is hilarious. I’m glad you were able to help haha

      • Another was ‘how to blast my neighbour’…. And ‘poisoning my husband’ – what sort of readers do I have? geez!

My top search (yes! I figured out how to view it!) was just my site name….inaidethelifeofmoi – boring, I know! The next one was ‘school days were the best time of my life’.

I remember singing the theme tune, whilst playing my miniature keyboard and wearing a back to front cap – as a kid – Man, I was cool! 🙂

      • I thought the fact I did the handshake make me the coolest, but that miniature keyboard might just win it for you…

Your readers know what they want and they aren’t afraid to ask haha. Your online name is hot property 🙂

      • It was a mighty fine keyboard, I must say. It also had a funky demo mode, and I’d pretend I could ‘totally rock’ the piano…had my friends fooled! Good times!

The handshake, you’ll have to teach me! If you had a pair of neon leg warmers, and a matching visor – I’ll hand you over the ‘kool kid’ title.

  5. Congrats on the awards, Alex!

I’m not sure I’ve ever met anyone else who speaks English as their first language and is called Raphael either! 🙂

  6. Thank you and congrats :). But I think I am going to hold up a bit. I have to many hehe. BUt thanks and I feel honored.

  7. Congrats, Alex!!! As always, very well-deserved. 🙂 And thank you so much!! You are way too nice to me, you know that? Lol. I need to do these again. Hopefully after a few things settle down I’ll address this and some of the ones from way, way back that I still haven’t gotten to…P.S. LOVE that Miss Piggy is your top search term. That is hilarious. 😀
