Line(s) of the Day #TheRaven

The Raven

Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary,
Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore,
While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As of some one gently rapping, rapping at my chamber door.

The opening lines of the poem ‘The Raven’ by Gothic writer Edgar Allen Poe (1809 -1849)

  1. A spooky quote. I was reminded of:

There are more things in heaven and earth, Horatio,
Than are dreamt of in your philosophy.
    – Hamlet

    • It’s an iambic pentameter masterpiece. I honestly think t’s one of the most unique poems ever written. I prefer his short story stuff. He was a tormented Gothic genius. Really worth checking out.
