I will be very soon writing up The Exorcist as a review for the very fantastic Silver Screen Serenade as part of her 2014 Resolutions series. In tribute to the genre, here are a maverick set of horror films covering decades. Try and work out the six spine-tingling, bone-chilling films below if you dare…
Answers
1. Rosemary’s Baby (1968)
2. Carrie (1976)
3. The Shining (1980)
4. Scream (1996)
5. The Others (2001)
6. Cabin in the Woods (2012)
Can’t believe I missed 3. Yikes.
Did get 1, 2, 4 and 5. Still need to watch 6.
Do you have a favourite horror movie?
Horror isn’t really my thing so my answer will stretch the definition of the genre. But it’s a toss up between The Birds and Army of Darkness (because, you know, they’re so very similar – read sarcasm).
Psycho or The Night of the Hunter would be mine. The Exorcist is a good film too.
4 of 6!
I’m surprised!
Not bad
I didn’t get 1, 3 and 5 since I’ve never watched them before. +_+
I’m curious to see Cabin in the Woods after what friends of mine have said
I am not a fan at all of horror movies…so I didn’t get any at all. The only ones I have watched are Inscidious chapter 2, Evil Dead, and Horror at Amyville (I think that’s how you call it). But good choices though. Most of my friends have said these movies are scary.
Stay away from The Exorcist ha. It’s super creepy. Are you a fan of rollercoasters?
Yes! I love rollercoasters 🙂
4 out of 6! Although my boyfriend confirmed no.3 for me since I haven’t seen that one. #5 is one of my absolute fave movies 🙂
Do you have similar tastes in films?
My boyfriend and I? Depends on what genres…however, he is far more knowledgeable than I am in horror flicks.
I am not fan of horror movies at all!!
I remember that in late December,my cousins and I had to choose a classic movie to watch, and they were insisting on The Shining, which they said was not a horror – or spooky – movie!
I am glad I refused! We went for The City of God instead!
The Shining is spooky for sure. City of God is an awesome movie mind.
Oh yeah! The City of God is a masterpiece! 😀
I only got “Carrie” right 🙂 Thanks Alex 🙂
I haven’t seen all six either. Hope you take loads of great pictures today.
Oh Alex, I would like that very much, but I am stuck in the office working like crazy. When I get home it will be dark and I will only want to eat, drink and read something relaxing…. The last pic I took was some weeks ago, it was of my Nana doll in black and white :D, and I am itching to shoot soon again :). How did your week start? I hope well….
I took some photos at the London Aquarium with my girlfriend recently, so will hope to put them up soon. I hope you get to take photos soon. You have real talent 🙂
Cheers Alex :). I look forward to your seaworld pics 😀
I’m not a horror movie fan, and avoid to see them!
Sorry — I have not seen any!
Have a great day, Alex! 🙂
Have a wonderful day too 🙂
4/6 despite the fact that I have actually seen 5 of them (and guess one I hadn’t seen), which in itself is unusual because I am not a great horror fan.
I’m not a big fan of the genre, but there are some good ones in there. Saw The Exorcist and it was very well made.
I totally agree… and it scared the bejesus out of me.
Glad I never saw it as a kid.
6 for 6! This is soooo my genre. Hahaha. Can’t WAIT to see your review!! 🙂
I had a feeling you’d ace it 🙂
Damn, man. I didn’t get Rosemary’s Baby and that one of my favourite horrors. Disappointed in myself! 😉
You set high standards. It was a tricky clue. Off to read your trivia tidbits

4 out of 6 *does the victory dance*. Well, 4 out of 6 is good going for me! 😀
Ps; I can’t watch horror films now my husband is away. I get too freaked out. I live in a really spooky old house!
Nice score. There must be friendly ghosts about 🙂
When we first moved in, my son kept saying he saw a monster with an ‘egg belly’, sharp teeth and whiskers! He was pretty adamant. Perhaps it was just a cat – or so I reassure myself!

I got all of them, except the last one.
Cool. If I did the same quiz now I’d have made it 12 films.
I’d play that quiz.
