I went to Amsterdam with my girlfriend Madeleine and the artwork is superb. I think van Gogh captured skylines better than any other artist. I was always a big fan. I even saw his sketchings in an exhibition once. Just breathtaking.
glad you had the opportunity to go there. my daughter is 21 in the spring, an art student, i am currently trying to get her friends and family together in organising a short trip to amsterdam so she can visit the masters artworks herself.
haha :). Have you posted anything by them on your blog?
I did the Bellows gr8at one recently, so I’ll do something similar for Turner and Cezanne. I might try and write up more about their lives or quote them for a line of the day.
That’s a good idea. Did I like the Bellows one?
You did. It was a recent one and one of my most popular posts. I wish I could paint like he could.
Van Gogh was a gift to us all! How blessed you are that you were able to visit his museum in Amsterdam~ I watched a video of his life last Fall…his struggles were immense,,,the beauty of his soul came through his art…he was a gift
What a lovely quote ๐
And he put it into art too, with paintings like Starry Night and Starry Night over the Rhone ๐
Lovely. I love van Gogh. : )

If she gets the chance to go, she’ll love it. I have a few photos on my blog, but this one reflects some of the beauty on offer https://alexraphael.wordpress.com/2013/11/16/travel-snapshot-amsterdam-holland-3/
Yes, I went to the van Gogh museum while in Amsterdam. And Picasso’s in Barcelona. Love them both. : )
I’ve been to Barcelona but so need to see that Picasso museum. Must be incredible.
Beautiful. Vincent is one of my favorite painters ever
I have a sort of tie between Bellows, Cezanne and Turner. Don’t make me choose ๐

Brilliant!
He had such incredible talent. His Starry Night used to be up on my wall as a kid.

He was a genius. So sad he suffered so much but so great his work lives on.
