(Narrating) But they showed no corrections of any kind. Not one. He had simply written down music already finished in his head. Page after page of it as if he were just taking dictation. And music, finished as no music is ever finished. Displace one note and there would be diminishment. Displace one phrase and the structure would fall.
Antonio Salieri (F. Murray Abraham) in Amadeus (1984)
Very nice picture! I love it! 🙂
Thanks 🙂
One of my favourite films.
It’s astonishing. Pretty much flawless really.
I’m surprised Tom Hulce didn’t have more of a career.
Very. And though F Murray Abraham has had more success, neither hit the heights you’d have expected.
love this movie – brilliant.
So many phenomenal scenes. I had to include this to highlight how much of a genius he was and jealous Salieri was. The funniest bit is when Salieri composes a tune for Mozart and Mozart inadvertently ridicules the piece – “Funny little tune but it yielded some good things”
Ahhh it’s such a good movie. I want to see it again. Did you know it was filmed mostly in Prague?
I did not know that. I thought it might have been Vienna.
They filmed it in Prague because that city still looks very authentic and like Vienna should have looked like back then.
Now I really really want to see the movie again!
Me too 🙂
I need to watch that again!! Great quote
So many great scenes and performances
